Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful
Wednesday, March 28, 2018
Once upon a time I think I might have thought I was kinda pretty, but beautiful has never been something I felt about myself. I think my kids are beautiful, and my mom. But maybe I look more at who they are than what they look like most of the time.
How do we learn to see the beauty in ourselves?
I grew up and survived a lot of different kinds of abuse, and it has been a challenge to see the good in me, to embrace it, and to empower it. What I think is beautiful is being happy in myself. Being of service to others. Showing love, not just to my kids and my family, but to every other person I come in contact with.
Why, you may ask? Because the truth is, we never know what someone else is going through or what they are thinking or feeling (sometimes not even after we ask them!). So, if i can contribute to the positive in the world, I want to do that!
I see all of you guys on here, I see your struggles and your progress, and I am so happy for each and every one of you. I'm grateful for the friends I have made on here. They remind me progress is possible, one step at a time. That we can change and grow and become whoever we dream of being!!
So today, see the beauty in yourself, that I see in you, that we all see in each other. It's there. Trust me, it is!
