BDS: Day 28- Get Ready to Weigh In
Wednesday, March 28, 2018
I hate to admit this but I have not specifically been dieting for the past couple of weeks because of dealing with some arthritis inflammation that has left me unable to even eat or sleep properly. Instead the NSAIDs that I am taking has had me retaining fluids (mostly in my lower extremities) and kept me sleepy and unable to concentrate for long periods of time. I have a scheduled appointment with a new rheumatologist in a week.
I have never taken prescription medication for my arthritis in the past simply because what I was taking was doing a good job of keeping the inflammation and subsequent pain in check. I was able to sleep more nights than not and I was able to participate in a regular exercise program of my choice. All that changed rapidly and without warning in the past month. Although I was reluctant to check with a doctor regarding this I did finally concede that a professional answer just might shed some light on what has changed in my body for this to happen.
Although it is too painful for me to exercise at this time I have been drinking plenty of fluids and trying to watch my sodium. I am still staying with my caloric range. Not much has changed except having to deal with ongoing pain for days and now weeks on end.
This is one of those life events that impact your overall weight loss efforts and I am trying to see it as that and carry on as usual.
I will weigh in today but for one of the teams that I am an active member on but I am going to keep that in perspective and just note the number without getting too upset.
As I often say to myself when I am going through a difficult time (and this is one of the more difficult ones) "This too shall pass" which I might add (not soon enough).
