I was quite confused and a little annoyed yesterday, I was finishing my 'Sparking' off and it was a bit late (about 5 past eleven) because of going to our Slimming World group. Anyway, I went to my Sparkpoints and noticed that I'd only registered having read 3 emails which was strange because I knew I'd done at least 7. I then realised the date had changed to the 23rd!!!!! As I always leave spinning the points wheel until I'd finished everything else it meant that I'd missed the 'logging in' spin plus bonus spin & Bonus Team points. As my streak at the moment is an incredible 1258 days you can imagine I wasn't too happy. I sent the following question to the Spark Technical people & I've also put their reply.....
Can you please tell me why, it's 20 minutes past 11 on the evening of Thursday March 22nd here in the United Kingdom and the Sparkpeople site has swapped over to Friday 23rd!!!! I cannot understand this as you in America are between 5 and 9 hours behind the UK and therefore shouldn't swap over until at least 6 hours from now..
Because this has happened, It has meant that my daily spin for Sparkpoints for yesterday, bonu spin & bonus points have been missed as with many of my other posts. I do hope this doesn't make me lose my streak of 1258 days.
Here is the reply...
When the DST time change occurs in the US, our system applies the time change to all accounts then, regardless of time zone. So even though your time has not rolled forward yet this Spring, our system already did that when our time changed March 11.
Let me know if your streak is affected.
Sorry for the confusion!
Luckily it appears my streak is still in tact, but I was a bit worried for a while.
