My lack of dedication is getting on my nerves

Friday, March 23, 2018

I blew it yesterday. I bought a bag of wafer cookies and then munched on them mindlessly while I was waiting for my granddaughter to finish her activity. UGH!

I should be more dedicated to the Beck Diet Solution activities. I am trying to figure out why I even bought those cookies in the first place. I walked back and forth in that store in the snack aisle for about 20 minutes and then gave in. I should have walked out sooner.

But thinking about it, I think I bought them because of boredom. I knew I'd have to sit in the car waiting and waiting and waiting. Okay, now I have the reason and I am going to focus no the NO CHOICE card.

Here I go again!

It's not your fault. A majority of processed foods are filled with either salt, sugar, fat or a combination of all three and designed to give us extreme pleasure, making it hard to resist buying. Hence, choosing to steer clear of them is totally necessary in order to avoid the"'pleasure trap" that food manufacturers hope we fall into. A container of thinly sliced apples or cubed sweet potatoes sprinkled with cinnamon would be a nice option with a bottle of water or hot tea nearby.

Chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.

Look at the bright side: you did resist for 20 minutes,
and in retrospect you now see that removing yourself from the situation could have helped.

You realize the answer, next time maybe go for a walk or read a book, listen to music or carry a healthy snack with you. emoticon

Finding the why is huge. It helps. A lot of this weight loss stuff is doing psychological battle with OURSELVES.
