My crazy life update...

Saturday, March 17, 2018

Several updates to give you all.

First, I had an unofficial interview with the CEO of the new agency that will be taking over our phone lines and crisis assessments. He was a very nice man, made me feel right at home and said many times "I can't believe the longevity you have with these two agencies" I hope that is a good thing. They have my resume. I should be called for an interview some time this coming week.

Secondly, my brother David. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he embarks on yet another medical journey. He had an emergency port placed yesterday in his chest to start dialysis. For anyone who may or may not know a creatine level shows kidney function. A normal level would be 0.5 to 1. My brother's was at 8. They said his kidney (yes I said kidney) is only functioning at 8%. Surprise! We found out a few years ago he only had one kidney when he had quadruple bypass. No one knew until then and he was 52 when he had that done. Anyways, they did dialysis after they placed the port and it went down to 5.1, this morning he was in dialysis again when I called to see how he was doing. They will be mapping his veins today to see where they can place a fistula for a more permanent place. My bro doesn't have good veins. A few years back they replaced them in his legs. I have to tell you I'm not ready to lose another sibling especially since we/he can do something about this now. He will be set up 3 times a week for dialysis about 10 miles from where we live. As long as he does this he can live a 'normal' life, but will need some extra assistance. He's lucky 2 of his siblings live in the same town as him and we are BOTH willing to do everything we can for him including being tested to see if we can be donors for him. I even have a list started of cousins who are willing to be tested.

So in a nutshell that is my update. I hope everyone is enjoying St. Patty's Day.
