Being the big girl at the gym....

The only good thing about me....is I have seen both sides of the story. I have lost weight with CrossFit and eating healthy (not dieting) and gotten to a point where I loved my body. Then my career had a major change and I gained all the weight I lost and added some extra on top! I'm now sitting at 200 pounds for first time in my life w/o a pregnancy involved in my weight gain.

Sooo....I went from being an intermediate athlete, to being the big girl at the gym. It's frustrating and embarrassing, but I am choosing to show up again. I can still do pull ups and overhead squats, but I can't do handstand push ups and have no engine right now. It will change with time and consistency.

It was hard going back. The core people at my gym saw my growth and now my regression, but they don't care. They are there to workout and to help you when you workout. They're there to push you along when you are the last person finishing up a workout and they are there to help you put your equipment away.

I guess I'm trying to say....don't let your embarrassment about your body stop you from showing up. Whatever your body type is...get in there and kill your workout knowing it will get easier to show up and no one cares what you look like. Find a gym that is friendly, helpful, and has people who will cheer for you along the way.
