Do you ever just feel......

Like you are never going to get it? That maybe this is just not meant to be even though you want it with all your heart.

I am so tired of trying to get it right over and over again with each new day but by the time I come home from work - that want and motivation goes out the door from all the effort I put in during the day to fight my food addiction.

I am starting to feel like a failure since I cannot seem to get it.....

Well today is another day to get it right - hope and will work on today being the day that tomorrow I wake up and think - I DID IT!

ONE DAY AT A TIME - I guess.....

    You're just feeling what so many of us do from time to time...I was disappointed with my efforts/will power & follow through these last 8 weeks, but I'm still here & will be as I become more mindful & purposeful in my exercise & nutrition...can't wait for spring-always lifts my overall outlook!     emoticon I've had these same thoughts myself but I just emoticon and remind myself that emoticon and I encourage you to do the same. Negative self talk gets us nowhere so it's important to recognize it and stop it in its track and replace with positive thought. emoticon

    I had to do a huge change in my diet in an effort to curb psoriasis and then later found out through my doctor that I was allergic to many food groups. Ugh, it was overwhelming. Besides the physical pain I was in spurring me onward and legitimate results providing me relief, I still struggled with it. So what got me going was to take small steps. Pick your main problem or at least a portion of it to focus on. In my case I not only had to take away but also add things. I could only handle one new change at a time and become very use to it before I could tackle another. But that ended up being the answer and over time I learned to make the changes habits. Sometimes you can easily incorporate more than one thing, and so do it. But expect for there to be hard ones to get used to. The basic truth is to eat live , fresh ,organic foods as much as possible. Limit starches and size portions. Drink water as exclusively as possible. Walk, get outside, recreate, ride a bike, have fun! The specific advice is to research what your body is like and if it needs specific things like avoiding a food you’re allergic to. You can keep track like I do of what I do right with things to do and things not to do on a calendar. If you check my old blogs you’ll find a detailed description of it. I use it every day and it does motivate me. So just do your best to break it down into doable steps and work one at a time until it becomes automatic. When you start seeing your successes in concrete fashion(ie,calendar) you’ll stop feeling so defeated or that it’s just too much. Your health will gradually improve and it does get easier. It’s possible, it’s doable, do it your way, and don’t stop. emoticon

    After work is often a challenging time for me as well.

    I want to have a moment to relax and my mind thinks of less healthy food choices. I tell myself if I really want something, a small piece of fruit or a little milk is OK..that it will help me stay on my healthier journey. I usually do not have it and realize it was emotional not true hunger.

    Sometimes All I want is a nice cup of tea or decaf coffee. (I drink them black.)

    I also like to check my emails when I get home. I make sure I never eat at the computer.

    Yes, it is hard sometimes, especially the evening coming home from work are a pain point for many of us.
    There are good habits and skills that make cravings diminish and go away.
    You will get it right!
