What I have Learned

This will be a weird entry. I have been in a caregiving situation for the past 7 weeks. I started out good but things got out of control. So I am going to write what I have learned that doesn't work.

1. Sleep is vital. I had 3 weeks of interrupted sleep every night. This does not help with weight loss or making good choices.
2. Lack of sleep contributes to making poor (maybe comfort) choices. I started eating ice cream or sherbet, salty items. I was making good meals, but the snacking was bad.
3. Not being in your own home and structuring your own day does not lend itself to being able to plan as I do at home. I think I am not firm in those habits that will carry me through an unusual situation.
4. Trying to support someone who has had knee replacement physically, mentally and emotionally takes a toll on me. I raised 2 boys but I was much younger.

So what do I do?

1. I have one week left. This week I will make better choices and blog every day. I am able to sleep through the night now without interruption.
2. I will plan some exercise into every day until I get home and can get back to my "home" plan.
3. I will continue to use Spark as my support system.

4. I will remember that the most important decision I have to make is the next one.
