Happy International Women's Day!!!

International Women's Day is all about equality and parity - that's what the women of the world have in common - in all that we are, in all that we do and in all that we will be - we want equality and parity in all things. The Day is also about celebrating and recognizing the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Few people know that this day has been celebrated since the early 1900's. As Gloria Steinheim said, "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."
Equality and parity are not just about women's rights, they are about human rights. And all
countries and cultures have been guilty of suppressing/oppressing women in various levels to various degrees. Yes, women have made great strides over time, but the unfortunate fact is that women are still not paid equally to that of their male counterparts, women still are not present in equal numbers in business or politics, and globally women's education, health and the violence against them is worse than that of men. Over the last few years the movement has taken on a romanticism - focusing more on the beauty and the strength of women inside and out - which is all well and good, but the bottom line is it's about equality and parity for women throughout the entire world!
