My Spark Friends
Thursday, March 01, 2018
My husband and I went out to breakfast this morning. It's my birthday.
I was telling him about my Face Book friends - all of whom are people I know from real life, either as colleagues, neighbors, or just plain friends. Many of them sent me birthday wishes on my FB page. It was a real pleasure to read their greetings.
(I don't allow anyone to write on my FB page, except for this one day of the year; I am the only one who can post messages there the rest of the time.)
I mentioned how nice it was to hear from some people I hardly ever see - but do keep up with on FB.
Then I started to talk about my Spark People friends.
As I spoke about my friends here on SP, I found myself describing people who are very real to me, even though we've only communicated on SP. (In the eight years that I have been a member, I have met with only one of my SP friends, and that was several years ago.)
I surprised myself by telling my husband that I have real relationships with my SP friends. We have read and responded to each others' blogs for many years, and I feel I know them, and I feel invested in them. He nodded his understanding.
So, let me say that here as well. I appreciate you and your blogs, and your responses to my blogs. I truly do feel a real connection - especially with those of you who have been on this path with me for a long while.
Thanks for sharing yourselves.
Thanks for being here.
