We're In Our New House!
Wednesday, February 28, 2018
If you read yesterday's blog, you'll know that our closing on our old house didn't go well. (That's an understatement if ever I've seen one!!). We finally signed our copies of the documents after cleaning the house etc, etc. and drove to our motel (which had no water until 9:30pm last night)
This morning, we calmly went to the closing for our new house. Guess what greeted us? Why it was another document that the world's most horrible home buyers from yesterday, had faxed to our new title company for us to sign! So before we could close on our new house, we were still dealing with the paperwork from the sale to the wackiest people on earth. They had decided that they wanted an additional paper signed.
I was trying to figure out how they located our new title company when I realized that our new title company needed a copy of a document that we signed at our settlement yesterday. My hats off to the people at the old title company. They had to adjust their whole very packed schedule and redo the original documents and redo the loan for the buyers because the buyers kept changing their minds about what they wanted. The people at the title company were polite and professional with buyers who were rude, demanding liars. Our realtor, who is the sweetest, most laid back individual was tearing her hair out! I have never heard her utter a curse word in all the time I've known her. Yesterday, she still didn't curse but she came up with some pretty funny descriptive words to address the situation.
Thankfully, today's settlement went much better that yesterday's. There are only a few things that need to be taken care of. Hubby and I are exhausted. I will be happy to sleep in my own bed tonight!
