So I had a little creamer in my coffee this morning. I also made slow cooker apple pecan blondie oatmeal last night. It's a SP recipe. The recipe calls for no sweetener, and uses maple extract and vanilla extract for flavoring. I decided to put 1 tbsp. of maple syrup on my oatmeal this morning, but I don't think I needed it. The apples in the oatmeal make it very sweet already. I think tomorrow morning I will leave off the sweetener and just have it plain and see if I like it.
I went without dessert yesterday and didn't crave it at night. I tend to have sweets in the afternoon for a snack, but I am giving that up. Yesterday for snacks I had carrot sticks with salsa and 4 cooked cocktail shrimp with cocktail sauce. The sauce is sweet, so I think that helped my cravings. Also, I wasn't starving once I ate my snacks, which helped me make better decisions. I also tracked my food early in the day yesterday so I had a plan of what I was going to eat all day, and I stuck to it! Hopefully all these things together will help me beat my sugar cravings.
