2 Books, 3 Miles!

Well, I'm already done with my second book! I finished it over the weekend. I was surprised I could get through almost 400 pages that fast but reading on the Kindle was an experience I really enjoyed more than I thought I would. I didn't think I would enjoy reading on a screen but the way it is lit really works out. It's also super light and easy to handle.

As far as the book Teresa Driscoll's "I'm Watching You" had some really great parts and some not so impressive aspects. I feel like the ending was a little "phoned in" but did enjoy the book overall. It kept me interested (probably why I finished it so quickly!) The characters were believable and interesting. The story was not only possible but plausible. It touched on aspects of the family, teenage years, being a parent, being a NEW parent and complicated relationships. Overall I would give it 4 stars. I would have ranked it higher if I weren't disappointed with the ending a little bit.

So now it's on to find a new book to start reading! No need to wait for March to keep moving! I was thinking about borrowing Wonder from my step daughter to read because I'd really like to read it and see it, but I also thought about saving it for vacation as a child's book would obviously be a pretty easy read! Either way, on to another book!

Last night I started my half marathon training. I've agreed with a few friends to start and go through the end of February. If we're all feeling good about training through May we will continue. If we aren't feeling good about it in a few weeks then we'll plan to run a shorter race for the Flying Pig. My thoughts are the 10k. With vacation and the Crossfit open in between now and May I'm not sure i have the time to train for the half - but I'm surely going to try!

Last night I ran 3 miles. It was the first time in a long time that I've done so - and it felt GREAT! I ran it in just under 30 minutes which means each of my miles were sub 10 minutes. For not running that distance in about a year it's pretty impressive for me to start at sub 10's! Tonight I have cross training on my schedule so I'll head to Crossfit. Tomorrow I have another 3 mile run that I plan to do first thing in the morning since it's supposed to rain. I put a custom schedule together based on the Hal Higdon Novice 1 Half Marathon Training Plan. I moved the days around to fit my needs and I actually have a day where they usually have rest that I made either 2 m run or Crossfit. I did this since I enjoy doing Crossfit 3 days a week. If I opt out of going on Friday's, it shouldn't hurt my training.

Well - back to work!!
