Still Tracking--Starting Week #2

Friday, February 09, 2018

I'm still tracking. Hard to believe, but I made it through the week and when I weighed myself this morning I'd lost 4 pounds. Not bad for the first week of getting back on the program. I'm hoping to lose between half a pound and one pound a week. I lose weight slowly. As much as I want to lose weight, I need to be healthy and feel good and I don't want to be hungry all the time. Tracking definitely shows me what I need to work on.

My Sweetie asked me what I wanted for Valentine's Day. I told him I want dark chocolate caramels (no salt). I can work it into my meal plan. He should be able to find a box with four. That would give us two each. I know sugar is not the best thing to be eating, but after looking at my tracker I see a bit here and there. Hey, sometimes you just need mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips. You'd be amazed at how satisfying 1/2 a serving of each is. That was my sweet treat for the week. I ate some oyster crackers this week. Not a good choice for a prediabetic who's trying to make her carbs count. I tend to eat when I'm upset or stressed. I need to do more to curb that. I also noticed that I need to get more fiber. It wasn't bad, I just want to be over 25 grams every day.

I have to start exercising again. My back has been bothering me, but it's much better now. Back to the treadmill! I have a strength training routine and stretching exercises that I like and I've been doing the ones I was able to do. I have the tendency to overdo. I'm going to take it slowly and hope that it will help to alleviate pain, not cause more.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day! emoticon

I like your plan to include small snacks of things you like. Nothing stops us faster than no favorite treats at all. Learning moderation is a good lesson for life. So glad you are doing well.

You're making great progress. I agree that you have to work a treat into your program. Otherwise, I end up feeling deprived and will overindulge. Got to enjoy that chocolate - plus, it's good for us :-)
