Ugh

Friday, February 09, 2018

Where do I start at Wednesday I didn’t do any exercise I rested when I got back from the hospital due to we been there 3hrs for Eye dr Appt. I did walk thru the Hospital to get to the cafeteria to eat our sandwiches that I made. Then back to the front we’ll that all the exercise I got! Yesterday was rough slept late, don’t feel good, head cold not fun. No exercise at all except walking thru my house. Over ate over my calories. Found out by my dietician that I need to be eating 1500 calories / 145 carbs a day to loose weight being Sedentary. SparkPeople has me between 2100-2400 something like that and being sedentary. So I am going to have to firgure how to change it on here. Ugh why things need to be so difficult

I'm eating about 1800 calories a day. I'm losing slow and steady. That is about half way between your spark range and your dietitian range. If I restrict to much, I end up setting myself up for failure. Everyone is different. You just have to figure what is working for you. I do know that every doctor and dietitian that I have worked with, have tried to force restrictions to fast and my metabolism would plateau and then I wouldn't loose any weight at all. Be comfortable with the changes you make. Being a caretaker is very stressful. My husband has MS and totally disabled. I think there are going to be times that the stress gets to us. Maybe forgive yourself when you binge and push your restart button. One step backwards two steps forward.

I've found in my years of losing weight (sometime succeeding and sometimes failing) that calorie counts are variable. I've been told different ranges by different apps and professionals. I've personally found that the SP ranges work best for me! That's part of why I always drift back here. You may want to consider doing a basal metabolic rate calculation on your own to get to the bottom of what your actual sedentary calorie consumption is. However, no calculation is perfect and in the end it's always just an estimate. It's frustrating. Just like burning calories. When I exercise I can never get an accurate calorie burn count because all the apps tell me something different! Ugh. You have to find what works for you. If you stay true to your calorie range and don't lose weight after a few weeks then you'll know you have to change it.
