Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday, February 07, 2018

It has been a few days since I blogged but I am
truly glad to have my car back. Not really driving
more than usual although we did drive my car to
the grandsons birthday party on Saturday. MIL
was content to leave her car at our house. I do not
care for the way her car handles. The wheel base
is too short so it is easy to overcorrect when driving.
DH was happy to let me drive. I parked in front of DD's
house as I was afraid there would be ice between the
garage and the backyard fence. That sidewalk was clear
until the melting snow oozed over the sidewalk in the
afternoon. When we left, DH takes off walking and lets
me be in charge of MIL. I scolded him because she is
frail and he didn't let her take his arm for stability. I said
she didn't need to fall and break a hip. I had my hands
full with leftovers from the party and no free hand to help her.
He finally got the hint. It was icy and Mom was walking on
egg shells. I wish he would understand and not have to
be reminded that he is more capable of keeping her from
falling than I am. But he always walks ahead with no idea
for her safety. Kind of a very old habit and one that he isn't
about to change. Plus she was wearing some slick little shoes
with no grips on the soles. Good for inside but not for ice.
I am working on a letter for the crop insurance meeting in 2
weeks. Just has to meet the approval of SIL.
In just one week, baby Jacob will be adopted. We drive to Minnesota
on the 15th and MIL wants to go along. It will be a 3+ hour trip
and I am hoping the weather is nice. I am sure that DH will "let"
me drive. He has gotten very adamant that he doesn't need the
stress but he would drive his mother across the state, no questions
asked, if that was what she wanted. Strange thinking there.
Better move on and get some work done before the phone starts
ringing. Have a Happy Hump Day! HUGS!

Marsha lol my son is the same with me... sorry ... hugs ...
The idea is he does not think his mom is old and can handle herself --does not see her as frail..
BUT he would drive her anywhere she needs to go... but if he needs to go somewhere the wife drives ... or in my family I drive ... weird hey...

Hope you have safe driving to the adoption .. hugs

Love my man dearly but he gets out of the car empty handed every time and I have to carry arm full of items to the house. Good man otherwise. I hope you have a safe drive to MN. and the roads are clear for you. Such excitement with the adoption near!

Glad everyone made it without incident. Congratulations on the pending adoption and praying for good weather for you.

Glad you have your car back!

**SIGH** DH’s sometimes just don’t think! Glad he took the hint to help his Mom, though. You’re right – he doesn’t want her to break a hip!

Good luck with composing your letter for the crop insurance meeting.

Wow! That’s fantastic that there’s only one week left till Jacob is adopted!

    HUGS!

Interesting habit he has!! And what about your safety?! I know you are more able bodied than MIL, but he needs to be looking after both of you! Glad you could go to the birthday! The adoption will be so wonderful!!
