When the new SparkChallenges came out, I was very excited about making a challenge for my team, The QuickFire Challenge ( teams.sparkpeople.com/Qu
) related to one of my biggest personal challenges: over-doing the late-night snacks. For some reason, when I first read about the challenges I thought there would be much more room for creating our own challenges and I was disappointed that we were limited to the six SP challenges as they are already presented. Then, I decided to go ahead with my challenge another way.
This evening I added a thread called The QuickFire Challenge Team's "Curb the Urge" Late-Night Snacking Challenge. I'm inviting anyone who wants to join the challenge to stop by our team page and join us. The challenge is as follows:
For the month of February, manage your late-night snacking in such a way that you:
1. Finish all eating for the day before 10pm;
2. Include a healthy evening snack;
3. Stay within your calorie range for the day.
Be sure to check in to this thread every day and let us know how you’re doing. Tell us what your healthy snacks are and what your strategies are for staying on track. If you’re struggling, tell us that, too. We’re here to share our wisdom and support each other.
In addition to this challenge, the team has daily fitness challenges that only take about 15 minutes to complete. These challenges are great for someone new to fitness and can be adapted to fit all levels of fitness. They are also a great way to jumpstart your day.
I've already come up with some ideas for staying on track for the "Curb the Urge" Challenge, but I'd love to hear your ideas for healthy evening snacks and strategies for avoiding snacking too much.
Hope to see you over at the QuickFire Challenge team!
