Why do I want to live healthier?

Monday, January 29, 2018

This blog is in response to a Spark Coach action step for today. What is the real reason I want to lose weight and live a healthier life? My first response is to look and feel better, but there are other reasons as well. I want to be able to have the energy to take care of my dad and my husband. I want to be to take my dog for a long walk to enjoy God's creation. I want to sleep better and move better. I want to not only live a long time, but I want to be able to enjoy that long life. I want to be confident to try new things and meet new people. I want to stay off medication and get off my current medications if it's possible. .

I know it's important to live life now and not wait until I lose the weight. I am trying to do that and Sparkpeople is helping me by providing ways to connect with people and motivating me to keep moving forward. I am trying hard not to use the phrase "when I lose weight I am going to...." instead telling myself to go out and do what I want to now.

Another part of the question is what do I plan to do when I reach my goals. I don't know except to set new goals and keep moving forward.

So there is not just one reason I want to live healthier there are many.

There are definitely many reasons to get healthy even while we are losing weight. If we aren't healthy, we usually don't feel good about ourselves and we don't feel like doing anything to help urselves.
