I lost another five pounds!

I'm happy I lost the weight, but of course I need to adjust my diet because five pounds in a week is a bit too much. I've been eating way below the calorie recommendations from SP for a couple of reasons, the main one being that it's so gratifying to lose weight quickly. But that's not what I'm here for, so I'm going to eat at least 1600 calories a day. More if I up my exercise. But I wish it was easier to balance the way I eat! I get enough carbs, no problem, and it's beyond easy to get enough fat, but I have a problem with protein. I'm not a huge fan of chicken and fish is ok, if it's fried. I love beans and lentils, but I can't eat them every day, and beef and pork are generally too fat. When I do my own shopping, I tend towards vegetarian meals,, although not exclusively, but staying with my parents, they're much more meat oriented. I'm getting used to eating tiny little portions of meat, but it's far from ideal. Oh well, I guess it's something to work on.

    Try eggs? I love hard boiled eggs as a quick snack (I buy them already boiled and shelled from the store) and they are 6 g protein each. I'm on bariatric protein shakes right now, that have 20-something g of protein in each shake, I'm using Bariatric Advantage, the flavor of iced latte. Once its mixed and no longer gritty (let it sit for 30 seconds) I add ice and shake it up some more. It's really good. Tuna fish is a quick easy one too, just make sure to get it in water not in oil!

    I had a strange loss this week myself. Last week I stayed the same and then this week I lost 6 lbs. Was very odd for me, since I'm at 91 lbs lost. Keep trying ! I like greek yogurt good protein.

    I love nuts, but the problem with them is their fat content. They have so much more fat than protein that I still have a problem balancing protein and fat when I eat them.

    congrats on the weight loss! Have you thought of adding more nuts or maybe protien powder to increase your intake?
