2017 is Gone, Looking ahead to 2018
Tuesday, January 23, 2018
Yes, I know that I’m about 3 weeks late writing this blog! I still want to put some of my thoughts here though. 2017 was a rather rough year for me so I am VERY glad it is over. I am definitely looking forward to this year starting off on the right track! I need to become active again. I have to admit, I have become quite sedentary over the last several months. Part of it is due to my health issues that I had all year long. I had walking pneumonia most of the year and had pleurisy thrown in there too! I wound up FINALLY getting a full/complete clean bill of health in October and sometime in middle of the month they gave me a pneumonia vaccination and then I received a flu shot too. This all in an effort to keep me healthy through the winter. I have put on about 8 lbs since about July due to a round of steroids I was put on...UGH! And I can’t seem to shake that with diet alone. I definitely NEED to get my body moving again!! It’s hard to start a routine again when you’ve been out of it for SO long. SO HARD!
So the game plan is to start doing these things:
**Focus T25 and/or some Zumba (until spring then I am going to try to start jogging again.)
**Drink my 8 glasses of water a day!
**track calories 1250-1550 per day!
In other family news, my husbands back is doing great at his surgery site, but now his disc above it is starting to herniate. =( They did an injection and it worked. That’s been about 2 months ago.
My son (11-yrs-old) is in 6th grade this year and is growing up too fast. He loves baseball and Basketball. He also loves building things. He says he wants to be an engineer when he grows up.
My daughter (15-years-old) has her permit and is learning to drive. She is wanting to start babysitting or something to try to start making some money. She loves to write stories and reads books all the time. She is a year ahead in school, so is in 11th grade this year, so we will be looking into Senior portraits this summer. I feel SO old. How did I get here?!?
So here’s to 2018 and all that this year holds.
