I’m soooo happy, it’s been in the 40’s and 50’s for the last few days and all the ice and snow are almost gone :) I fell two more times early last week, which made my back really start hurting. It was a miserable week and I did some comfort eating.
I had a massage on Saturday that seems to have fixed whatever was wrong with my back (my lower back / right hip / leg has been bothering me since I got back from Argentina, but it was agonizing since the falls). I still have pain but it’s nowhere near as debilitating as it was last week, and I feel like I can actually exercise again. I also got a lot of cleaning done this weekend (which I had been putting off, and it was affecting my mood). I’m proud of myself for moving forward!
Today I’m planning on hitting the gym after work for some gentle strength training for my back, shoulders, arms and abs, and some treadmill intervals.
Food-wise, I’m having lemon water, a banana and almond butter and coffee with milk for breakfast, lentil curry for lunch and a grass fed beef stick, an apple, and gluten free crackers & cheese for snack, then I’ll come home and finish cleaning my kitchen and make dinner: roasted veggies and potatoes with steamed fish.
If I can meet all of these goals today without buying any food, I’ll be incredibly proud of myself (I’ve realized I’ve got to take this one day at a time... It’s fine to have vague, long-term goals, but it stresses me out if I focus on them too much, because they seem out of reach... so right now my goal is just what I’ve written here today, and to have one really good day. Then tomorrow, I’ll do the same thing).
I got a yearly bonus at work :) I’m using it to buy tickets to Hamilton, and once my fiancé is here I’m going to take him to New York City 🌃— being an immigrant, he wants to see the Statue of Liberty 🗽 and the World Trade Center memorial. I want him to have this experience :) we are aiming at a show early next spring, but I’ll buy the broadway tickets as soon as they go on sale (June), since they sell out so quickly. I’ll also be buying tickets for my friend and her husband, because she has been a wonderful support for me over the last year and she doesn’t have a lot of money right now, and I really want to share the experience with her, too. If I have any money left after buying the tickets, I’m going to start saving for a trip to Cancun next January 🏝☀️. I really want to be in shape before this trip.
I have a doctor’s appointment on feb 19 where they will weigh me, and I want to see how much weight I can lose by then. My scale doesn’t even work right now because I weigh too much. I’m aiming to be low enough by then for it to work so I can start weighing in weekly again.
