Showing up

As long as you're showing up, you're in the game. Right?

I guess I've reached a moment when I'm not interested in beating myself up for taking a break from my workout schedule, or not adhering to my nutritional plans. I just don't see it as being constructive.

So, here I am, showing up. I've been working out this week, and trying to drink more water, and eating fairly healthily. I have reset some reasonable goals. I know there are going to be good days and less-good days, and truly, I am looking at this for the long haul. I like how I feel when I work out and make healthy choices. I like hiking, and cycling, and being outdoors.

My non-scale physical goals this month (will likely carry forward to future months):

1) Improve my balance. I've noticed that I am more wobbly and tentative in various situations lately. I want to strengthen my ankles and improve my balance and feel more confident in my physical strength, particularly for various yoga moves and hiking.

2) Drink more water. I find it hard to drink a ton of water when it's cold outside (like now) so I need to get back in the habit. Unsweetened herbal tea counts for this in my book, too. Basically I want to be more hydrated.

    Good blog..I love your goals..I also am working on ankles & legs, and need to drink just a little bit more water.
