So far this month we have been horrible about eating better so this month we just marked as planning things out and getting things ready.
Since my grandma has dementia her sleeping has been off so Ive been up all night and sleep in till 10 or 11. Not good. Lately though she has been falling asleep earlier which is great. Last night we got in bed at 10. It was nice getting to bed that early but for some reason I kept waking up every 20/30 mins starting around 3:30. Got up at 6:30 to get gram on the toilet and I tried to stay awake but I was out at around 8:30 and I got up a little after 10. So the plan is to get to bed by 9 and up at 5, and stay up!
Now with the food. Portion control for me is horrible. I always eat way to much. Ive always ate like this since i was little. I was never taught about portion control. For years now I have been only eating 2 something 3 times a day. This is due to a bad sleeping habit.
I want to start eating 5 to 6 small meals a day.
Sundays I want to meal prep. Roast up veggies, cook some sweet potatoes, cook some pasta, and make a soup. This way I can just scoop out what I need and warm it up.
Exercise at home daily and go to the gym 3 times a week (maybe everyday once I get into a rhythm).
I really need to work on drinking water. There have been days where just before bed I've realized that Ive only drink maybe 3 cups. So the water plan is to drink a glass before every meal, 1 after just waking up, 1 before bed, and then during meals. I might try the warm lemon water first thing in the mornings but I dunno about the warm part.
I would love for this to become my norm. Eating the small meals wont weigh me down and make me feel sluggish. I can actually be active after eating and not feel like Im about to throw up.
Something Im really starting to like are loaded sweet potatoes. A few days ago I took a precooked sweet potato, peeled it and put it in the oven with chili powder, cumin, and red pepper. I then put on top black beans, corn, bell pepper, a small sprinkle of cheese, a drizzle of taco sauce, and a drizzle of ranch. It was so damn good.
Goodful and Tasty Vegetarian are 2 pages I follow on Facebook and the food they share are just sooooo dang on yummy looking.
