This is Not a Diet! This is Not a Drill! I OWN This Journey!

A few days into my post-surgery changes. I am still learning what foods are now off limits. Yesterday, I ate wholly within the safe list. Turned down the fruit turnover and the other goodies that my partner brought home. It makes it easier not to feel as if I am giving up something when I remember that what I am doing is making sure I don't suffer the consequences of eating unwisely!

Today, I am totally ok with taking it one day, one meal, one glass of water at a time and knowing that this really is, fundamentally is, a lifestyle change of choice. There's peace with this today and there is that little bit of excitement and positive energy. What can I do to keep this going? This is such a new feeling for me!

I have not stepped on the scale, but my clothes are looser and my face looks just a smidge thinner.

My short term goal is to build some consistency with my food. Eat within my plan for a week, including the 4 days return to work starting on Tuesday. That means planning for the mini meals and not on 3 big meals. So far, the smaller meals/snacks approach has worked much better than I would have guessed.

When I heal from the surgery, back to Planet Fitness! I am actually looking forward to really incorporating that into my lifestyle. As I commented in an earlier blog, weight loss will be a byproduct of these choices and this activity. A less-well-formed goal surrounds the trip in May back to our HQ in California for a week. I want to wear a smaller size of clothes and exhibit wonderful food choices at all the team meals. I am already thinking about that.

A bucket list item will occur in November 2019. I am going on my first cruise! It's a family event and you KNOW I want to be ready for that!
