I Flipped It!

Over the past few months, I’ve tracked how often I stayed on track. Literally. Among a ton of other things I tracked on a daily basis. Last week when I was reviewing my strategies, trying to figure out what was working and what was not, I noticed that over the past 4 months of 2017, I consistently stayed on track only two days each week. So, hmmm, something wasn’t working…
So I decided to simplify and focus on the main problems: I don’t do enough dinner preparation and I have not been exercising enough. And… I flipped it! Over the past week, I stayed on track 5 days and went off my plan only two days! (And just a little bit…) I am focusing on that as a major success and ignoring the fact that the scale went down and then back up again. I know this will happen when I’m building muscle.
This week, I’ll plan my dinners again, so I don’t ravenously raid the fridge when i get home from work. Yesterday I cooked batches of chili and white bean soup with ham. Mmmm…
Monday: White bean soup
Wednesday: Won ton soup
Thursday: Curried lentil and ham
Exercise is also going well. I am mixing it up, doing yoga, pilates and Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred videos, and a Group Power class at the gym. (Too cold to walk outside, at least for me!).
