A Little Planning

This week I am trying something new. I am going to do some meal prepping. I figure frozen fruits, veggies, oatmeal, nuts, and yogurt can make interesting smoothies. I am going to try to have smoothies for two of my three meals. Then for the other, I am meal prepping those too. I am still dealing with nerve impingement from bulged disks in my neck, so my exercise is quite limited. This sort of means that I should be more stringent with my food choices. When I am not feeling good, the last thing I want to do is cook. This is dangerous because my dad will bring fast food or pizza for the kids, and I will eat it in my moment of weakness. Ugh! I will regret it before it touches my lips, but I will eat it. So we are stopping that cycle by meal prepping when I am feeling good.
As for the exercise, I am back to running in the pool at the gym nearly daily. Today I did 90 minutes. I bought myself a cheap water friendly MP3 player and I find it helps me stay motivated. I need to start adding in more of the core exercises that I do with my trainer on Mondays throughout the weak. Today I plan to add air to my yoga ball. He has me use the yoga ball a lot for modifications. I figure even if I don't do a full routine 3xs a week, if I slip in 2 or 3 strength training things a day, maybe even at home before I go to the gym, I am good.
Then I got real with myself and got on the scale the other day. It was not good, but I am going to look at as if I good place to start. So I can lose lots of weight this year.
I still believe that everything happens for a purpose. I think things will work out. I know the only way to lose is to stop trying. A brand new year brings brand new opportunities. Monday I am going to figure somethings out with my treatment plan, and finish my application for grad school. My mantra the last several years has been, "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." -Ralph Waldo Emerson...and I believe what lies within me is a bad ass who can get through anything.
