Day 5, 2018

Friday, January 05, 2018

I started a steak of tracking nutrition this year.
Not a resolution but a mindful exercise to be
aware of what I am eating. Making this a new habit.
I was hoping when DH retired that he would take over
more of the household duties. But since it has been
over 2 years, it hasn't become his habit LOL!
I come home to dishes in the sink, laundry to be
washed and folded, or baskets of his laundry that
will sit until I fold and put away.
He is almost religious to wash the eggs daily and
make sure he takes a shower but after that, he has
an aversion to water. I have asked kindly that he at
least would rinse out his milk glass and soak his
breakfast plate after making his easy-over eggs. The
residue is so stuck on by the time I get home. But
I guess that would make life too easy and he doesn't
want to deny me the privilege of my "wifely duties". Sigh!
The weather has moderated and we are in more seasonable
temperatures-for now. Sometime, next week, that will change.
Happy Friday, Sparkers. Back to work in the salt mines but
at least, the weekend is coming.

My DH helps out with dishes and laundry and other household chores as needed - as when we entertain. We are both retired, and it frees up time for both of us to enjoy more.

I am even more grateful that my DH pitches in daily to help me out since retirement.

My hubby does clean up after his breakfast and enjoys working or helping in the kitchen but can't see to close drawers and cupboards. I go behind and close them. Good thing we are both retired and most the time work well together.

Reading this makes me feel so blessed because my DH helps with dishes and laundry. And he works full time and I don't work anymore. Hang in there, my friend๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

I see he has you trained well. I finally had to have a sit down talk with my DH about helping more. He is doing better when he is physically able. He is back in hospital right now.
    Stay warm.

We have a windchill advisory in effect throughout the weekend. We had 18 inches of snow yesterday and near hurricane force winds along with it..

If your DH were my ex H, the dishes he used would sit there until there were no dishes to use. There would be mine and his dishes, and a body part would be missing if he touched mine. His and her towels and he would be wearing stinky dirty clothes. I am no ones slave. Unless he is mentally challenged, he knows how to turn on water and wash dishes and operate a washing machine.

Oh Lord. Men take a long time to catch on sometimes! Hmmmmmm . . . . makes paper plates and plastic utinsels look pretty good til washing dishes, etc. becomes a habit. I hate the environmentally unfriendly aspect of that, but . . . . heck, your time is worth something too.

Stay warm. We will get to 32 this weekend then some snow.

Isn't it odd that we get so accustomed to the shorter weeks so quickly, when it's back to 5 days, it's a chore! Such is life, I guess!

I'm definitely ready for the weekend! (How am I going to work 5 days next week??) It's still cold here for another 2 days and then we'll get a little break before it comes back.
I hope your day is wonderful! emoticon
