I'm very proud of myself for sticking to my plan today. I attended a training course at work - which was quite 'emotional' and when I left at 4.30pm I felt I needed something to comfort myself.
I considered buying a Costa coffee........ but didn't. I went into Boots chemist and bought myself some new hair grips and elastics, and some vitamins (to support my immune system as I have been surrounded by people with colds, and feel like I might have something coming), and two shower gels (both Boots' own 75p) with lovely colours and smells. This was a spend (back in November I tried hard not to spend as a substitute for eating) but I needed the hair grips, and the shower gels will be used, so it wasn't too bad. The hair elastics weren't necessary, but they'll be nice to use too and make me feel good about myself.
I've also treated myself to 5ml of whisky in my decaff coffee this evening - I just 'needed' a little something.
A month's supply of store-cupboard groceries have been delivered - so I'm feeling 'safe' for the month ahead. Something very reassuring about having food in the cupboard!
Tonight I did have comfort food for dinner - but it was planned. I also didn't eat all the mashed potato (it was steamed potato mashed with some yellow mustard and a little vegan mayo), a vegetarian burger (it has some mozzarella cheese in), and peas, then a little dish of red grapes.
Breakfast was porridge, with 1tsp maca, 1tsp almond butter, 1/2 cup berries, coconut milk, mixed spice. I had to eat this before leaving the house today, as the training wouldn't have space for me to eat breakfast, and lunch was at a prescribed time (1pm).
Lunch was almost the same as yesterday - gluten-free roll, Quorn ham, pickle, tomato, cucumber - plus a clemantine, AND a cocoa-orange Nakd Bar (just made with nuts and dried fruit). This helped me feel satisfied, and I was not tempted by the chocolate digestive biscuits next to the coffee/tea urn!
On the bus home I read a book on my kindle - shutting out the dark and the rain. It helps the time pass quickly.
I'm hoping I still have time for some yoga before bed tonight - then off to bed early enough to get enough sleep for tomorrow's work day.
