2018 - A Year of New Beginnings!

A very Happy New Year to all and best wishes for a wonderful 2018.
Last year was a very rough and challenging year for my family. Death of my mom and my father in law, mother in law not doing well and my son moved to Delaware.
However, life goes on and we have decided to move forward and take one day at a time. So my DH and I along with my younger son decided to fly to Delaware an spend Christmas with my son and his girlfriend.
We had a wonderful, cold, cold, brutally cold week but it was so much fun just being with my son and have these days for us to reenergize and take time for us. I was able to cook for him and we even had the chance to see snow, which my youngest son was dying to see. It made the cold more manageable.
On New Year’s Eve, his girlfriend’s parents came down for the day and we were able to have a great day together. We all gathered at my son’s apartment to receive the New Year-waiting for new beginnings and better things for 2018. We watched the ball come down on the TV and as I turned to wish my son Happy New Year – he was down on one knee waiting to propose to his girlfriend.
She was turned around toward her parents unaware of what was about to happen. When she finally turned around there he was waiting to ask her to marry him!! SHE SAID “YES”.
It was a surprised to all of us – the only other person that knew was his brother – he went to get the ring with him and helped to keep him calmed all day!!! I was in a state of shock and happiness. So proud of my son and the man he has become. We all needed this moment as a sign that things will be ok. We will all be able to move forward.
2018 – A time of new beginnings and looking forward to a year of planning and preparing for the future. What more can a mother ask for then to see her children fulfilled and happy.
Congratulations Roger and Jennifer - so proud of both of you!!!!
