And a happy emoticon of the year to you!
And the New Year finds me back at home feeling better. Anything is better than the hospital! Yes, it got that bad -- but I spent only one night there, diagnosed with pneumonia, a partially collapsed lung, and pleurisy. 3 nites ago, I woke up in excruciating pain when I tried to roll over and get out of bed. I thought it was a pinched nerve in my back. Some light back exercises greatly reduced the pain -- which confirmed my self-diagnosis. But it attacked in late afternoon with a vengeance every time I coughed and by the next morning, we were all agreed that I needed to go to the emergency room. And when I got there, my blood pressure plummeted after they gave me a Percocet for the pain and I apparently scared the bejeesus out of the attendants... which clinched the idea that I was going to be admitted at least overnight. MM said they pumped 3 liters of saline solution into me within 30 minutes. All my wrinkles are very nicely plumped up now and if I weren't so pale, I'd look mahvelous, dahling, simply mahvelous!
Anyway, they pricked, poked, prodded, IV'd, and tested and cultured me every which way they could think of (ugh) and gave me meds or checked my name, birthdate, blood pressure, oxygen and temperature every freaking hour.
It worked -- I didn't sleep a wink and am supremely glad to be back home! Still with everything I went in with, except for the level of pain. And I came home with an accurate diagnosis (I HOPE!) and better meds. The New Year can only improve from here on out! emoticon
