Making the Rest of Your Life, the Best of Your Life - Day 6

What a great "resolution". In the past, there were always resolutions, such as "Lose 2.5 lbs. per week". Being the perfectionist that I am, the moment I didn't make a specific goal, I quit.
Even though, I still set S.M.AR.T. goals, sometimes for me it helps to be less specific, and set more achievable goals that I can achieve and feel pleasure in an accomplishment.
Example in Point..in the past I would have set of goal of 10,000 steps..but then when something happened and I couldn't make all 10,000 steps...i would feel like a failure and give up.
This time around, I am looking for the small incremental changes..such as just setting a goal of exercising daily..when that becomes a daily habit, I can increase the amount of time.
Right now, I don't know for sure what my body will allow me to do on a daily basis..so I do what I can..learning to be gentle and encouraging to myself.
I know that this might not work for everyone, but for me, right now, I am trying just to be consistent in my fitness goals.
Yesterday, I did get out and drive myself to church, so with my 10 minutes walking video, I had 2,889 steps, a most 200 more than the day before.
Today, the goal is just to make sure I walk my 10 minutes..It still takes everything I have just to finish those 10 minutes, so I don't think it's time to increase the time yet.
Tomorrow will be my first day back to work after my surgery...concerned about how sitting is going to affect my pain levels..around the house, I get really stiff from sitting, really fast. My release said, i needed to have the ability to get up for 10 minutes every hour..not always easy to remember.
Blessings for Your journey today...not yesterday, it's gone..not tomorrow, it's not here yet, but for today...our gift-the Present
