Weigh-In -- 31Dec17 -- New Year's wishes

Monday, January 01, 2018

Same weight as last week - in fact, same weight as last year... emoticon Kind of mixed emotions about that, while it's not down, it also isn't up. I guess the year was good practice for maintenance. When I looked at the graph my variance was -2/+1, which in a way is really good.

I'm still plugging along haphazardly, barely maintaining. I need to get some goals set up for 2018. A Spark article I read said not to keep the same ones from last year - since they didn't work then, they probably won't work now - but I think I will use them anyway.

First, I need to get back on the water wagon. I notice quite a difference in the amount of mucous I have to deal with when I don't keep hydrated. Also, when I'm hydrated I don't notice my tinnitus so much.

Second, I have to start getting at least 10 minutes of cardio every day. That is about the only thing I manage to do to keep moving with a sedentary job (at least in this weather... Although I could shovel snow when it warms up a bit).

Third, I have decided to give up my one Diet Coke a day and drink water instead. Last one I had was yesterday unless I find one today when I clean out the fridge. I don't do coffee or tea, so water it is. That should help the grocery bill since I don't like bottled water either.

Fourth - more fruits and veggies!!!

That should be enough to concentrate on to start... At least on the food front.

Fifth - and maybe most important - Get at least 5 items thrown or put away every. single. day.
Too much clutter in my life...

I'll close with a bit of Maxine (thank you, Linda)

Happy New Year to all!

I had a year of maintenance too - unplanned but thankful I don't weight more than I did when I started 2017. I was literally exactly the same. Sigh...

Decluttering is staying on my list for 2018. I started off 2017 with a bang and promptly quit the project. I like your idea of 5 things a day.

Way to go on quitting the diet coke! Great plan. I know I feel much better without soda in my life and its been a whole year again for me. My longest period was 18 months without soda and I fully plan to beat that this time.

Looking forward to journeying with you this year! We can both reach our goals.

I have similar goals. I am hitting the fluids again. And I am trying for 10 minutes of exercise every day. I am upping my fruits and veggies. And am eating cleaner. I need to do the declutter thing too. Have a great 2018!!

emoticon My goals about the same as yours and same as last year. Need to get in more cardio-that shoveling is just not the best way to do it! But yes to increasing the water and the veggies. Never been a soda pop drinker so that's not an issue for me. Decluttering in and also get back to tracking the food. That worked well for me.

It was -32 with -47 windchill at 0330 then went up to -30 and down to -50 windchill at 0700. Car would not start. I have it on the battery charger now. Looks so sunny and deceptively beautiful out there. Just not warm inside either. Floors are cold through my wool socks! Walls are cold. Need to do some jumping jacks!
