Change Takes Time

If you look at any aspect of your life you’ll notice that a lot of things have changed. Maybe some of those changes were very obvious and happened all at once, but others, you’ll notice, change slowly over time. You’ll feel suddenly like something sneaky happened in the night to cause all of this because you didn’t realize it was happening. Changing habits is one of the latter of those two things. They say it takes 21 days to change a habit. How about 100? I’m currently on day four of a 100 Day Challenge. The idea behind the challenge is that you choose anything you want to get better at or do more of, like learning an instrument or learning to cook, and you do that for 100 days. I chose to go to workout 100 days straight. Now, that probably sounds daunting and you might be thinking it’s unhealthy, but I’m not talking about doing incredibly difficult, lengthy workouts every single day. I’m talking about doing the elliptical, doing a workout video, yoga, lifting weights, taking a walk, etc. This way I still get to take a rest from a more challenging workout by doing yoga or taking my dog for a walk the next day. My rule is that I must do at least 30 minutes a day and that I must be present and intentive for those 30 minutes. I’m on day four and I’m excited for the challenge and even more excited to see how it changes me! If I did my math right I should completel the challenge on April 9... but I hope that by then it’s less of a challenge and more of just... life!
