Day 3 at the Gym

I am still not doing a full workout. I am not kidding anyone, least of all myself. But, this was my 3rd straight day to walk through the doors and do something.

I thought I would try the recumbent bike, but headed back to the elliptical for my 3" warmup. That last minute was tough! Level one all the way, so I obviously have lots of room for improvement!

Today was supposed to be core, but I quickly found out that I may need to rethink this at least until after surgery and post-surgery clearance. I did like the ab machine, though. The pain just surprised me.

I like the rowing machine, too. I can feel tension in my shoulders is dissolving. Tension I have had so long I barely know what it's like not to have it!

Today, I discovered the stretching area. I really like the precor machine. The hamstring stretch was quite therapeutic. I did not try all the exercises, but I will build on today's experience.

The back stretch machine is heaven! I end my workout with that every time.

The last thing I do is update my spiral notebook - what did I do for cardio, what did I do for strength and what did I do for flexibility. As I move forward, there will be alternating days - I know not to try to do everything every day, but I have a long way to go to get to that level.

Feeling mostly good, physically, and feeling great about myself!

    emoticon You are doing great and being very sensible. Make sure you do get your Dr.'s clearance for what exercise you can do after your surgery, that is very important. He should be assigning a physiotherapist perhaps to help strengthen after recovery perhaps?
    I remember my very first time on the elliptical. I did not get very far for very long or very fast, less than five minutes in fact. Its hard! It does take time to build up. In the end it will be worth it. The rowing machine is one of the best workouts ever, glad you can do it! Love they have stretching machines. I liked Curves stretching apparatus. Most people ignore this important step.

    Congrats on Day 3! getting there is half the battle. I always ended my strength days on the back stretch machine at the gym too.
