Struggling

I'm struggling. The two weeks between Christmas and New Years is the worst for me in trying to loose weight. There's too much good food around. The kids are home, We're eating out with friends. Trying not to get down about it.

There are always going to be these times. I need to learn to say no. Tough stuff.

But for today, trying again. emoticon

    I gained weight too but am not sweating it. I was mad at myself but decided what is done is done so on to the next thing. My daughter is going to be my health partner even though we can't get together every day.

    I figure on this healthy lifestyle journey we ALL hit bumps in the road (heck, I've wandered off the road ENTIRELY before!). The IMPORTANT thing is that you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and continue to head in the right direction. This is a lifelong journey, and if that "continue to head in the right direction" doesn't resume until January 1, that's fine. You took a small detour. It slowed your journey, but you didn't just stop and sit on the side of the road watching everyone else go by, or turn around and head back the way you came.

    All we can do is try. One thing I find that helps is to ask myself if I want to eat something because I will have to track it. Sometimes that is enough to stop/slow me down.
