A Magical Anniversary Celebration
Saturday, December 23, 2017
This year of our 50th wedding anniversary, we are having an extra special family Christmas together. Both my sons and their families will be with us for the day.
(This is a first, since they live on opposite coasts of this country.)
Then, later in the evening, we will head off to the airport, and get on a plane to Madrid.
This is the second half of our anniversary celebration, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.
We will get to see the sights of the city - all lit up with holiday lights. We will eat delicious food. We will visit famous museums, walk a lot, and stay up too late. We will visit with some of my son's friends.
And, when the grandkids get worn out from being tourists, the hotel has an indoor swimming pool.
We return home again the day before New Year's eve.
(Why Spain? One son lived there for several years after college and is now a high school Spanish teacher who travels back with students annually. The other son proposed to his wife in Barcelona. The country is personally significant to both of them.)
And now, we are all going together - with grandkids - as a spectacular ending to this very special year of celebrating our 50th anniversary.
