Okay, so the plan is simple - do what you can, when you can. Don't worry about the rest.
I'm working on running, but I have to take it slow. I did week 1 of a half marathon training plan...and then couldn't complete it again the next week. My body is not happy. So I run when I can, for as much as I can. Half a mile. A mile and a half. Whatever works. If my plan says 2 miles and my body says 1/2, I take the 1/2 and try not to stress over it. I'm using a 12 week plan for 52+ weeks, so...I have time.
I also pulled out a training plan from Bodybuilding.com for strength training. It's a 4 week plan. I can't always work out every day they're asking me to right now. That's alright. I did day one the other day (the day I posted my last blog) and then haven't been able to get back in the gym since. Things are busy. My body is sore and tired. When I get back to the gym (likely tomorrow....I thought maybe today but I have a booster meeting tonight I forgot about), I'll do day 2. When I get back the next time (hopefully Saturday), I'll do day 3.
Do what you can and don't stress the rest.
My goal is to get as close to 175 as I possibly can on my own. Right now, I'm adjusting just a little bit. More exercise. More mental health exercises. Less sweets. Better choices. When my heart is a little more healed, I'll kick into BEAST mode, the one I know I have, and let it lead me where it will.
My guess is that I can get to 190 with work. 175 seems pretty out of reach without surgery.
I've explored other options. The outfit in Mexico emailed me info on how to get a quote so I'll be doing that this weekend. I just have to give them some information, send them some pictures and see what they say. I probably won't have the time or money for that until 2019 anyhow...and considering some of the issues I'm expecting with surgery, I honestly think that might be best.
2018 is going to be about living my best life and not trying to be what I'm not.
...at least that's what I'm going for...
