oh my. finished off the week with all the ingredients of a Good Day. enough sleep before work. did the night time video - lower body strength from jessica smith's 6 week transformation. had to work a bit later than i wanted in the night, didn't get back to sleep until 6 a.m., but we took the morning off and headed for the hills - a foggy day - mysterious - where i got to try out my new camera. when we were first married, oh so many years ago, DH decided i needed a fishing reel - so he bought me one as a present. never used it. DH has always loved photography; for years, i put up with it patiently, usually bringing a book to read. until i finally caught the bug. but, in the meantime, he bought me one camera. gathered dust, gave it to one of the kids. and another. same thing. and then, i had a cell phone with a good camera. it did all the work! i pointed, and the photos were wonderful. and i was hooked. a few ins and outs of cameras that worked and didn't, but i finally feel seriously enough about it that i just received my first BigGirl camera. for real! not a cell phone, not an iPhone, and not even my cute little fit in my purse red camera that i have used for the past year and a half. no, this is a real camera with a real lens, and i am actually learning how to make it work, and today was our first outing with my RealCamera.

and did i mention that beck says we should expand our horizons beyond diet? yeah. that's the camera. and the four mile walk in the snow. the interests, the energy, the ability that wasn't there when i weighed 20 and 30 and 40 lbs more than i weigh now.

so here are my first attempts with the new baby:

and today's stats

Beautiful photos. Photography was my hobby many years ago. I still have my old gear. With the change in technology from film to digital, I could not afford to maintain the hobby. So I bought a fishing pole, actually several poles. But, according to my spies from the north pole (Thor, my Canadian Chihuahua, is friends with a few of the Elves), I may be getting a digital SLR camera for Christmas. Enjoy your camera!

I have a feeling we are in for a real treat while you play with your new camera! Love the photo of your DH running "away". It reminds me of a cover for a mystery book I would want to read. It gives the impression it will be a story about something rather lonely and haunting. Good job already!

Your RealCamera has a macro setting? Nice close-up of the frosted flower.
