Day 18 - I've tied a knot to the end of my rope & I'm hanging on

I haven't posted in a couple of days-
My boot that I've been wearing for several days is off (part-time) but at least I can drive. However, my foot swells and I know that I still have a ways to go before I can even resemble life before the broken ankle. It's easier to exercise with the boot on - but then I am concerned because I need to work on regaining my strength and flexibility.
My Christmas tree crashed and several very precious ornaments are destroyed. I've never had a tree fall over in my entire life...and I've lived a lot of years. My tree topper was also broken in several pieces and that's what upsets me most. I am hoping gorilla glue can work some magic.
Some work related craziness is eating up most of my time - I'm so close to time off and that's when it gets really bad. Everyone realizes that I am about to be out for a week and some of them lose their minds trying to make sure I get stuff done. I am on top of my stuff - it's the items that they send to me at 4p on a Friday and they say "I forgot to send this to you but it's got to be done before you go." And, usually, it really does need to be done. Fortunately, my director is AMAZING to work for and I love what I do. But still - the frustration of getting things done because of someone else's failure to plan stresses me out.
On a good note, my youngest daughter surprised me by coming home almost a week earlier than planned. She's asleep in my house right now and it's such a good feeling to have her home. I hate that she lives so far away. At least it isn't 6,000 miles - that's how far away my oldest daughter & first granddaughter were for 3 years when my son-in-law was stationed in Hawaii. Luckily, they live here now too.
OK - time to work - have a great day everyone & thanks for letting me ramble :)
