what a week! a great time to practice beckniques for travel and restaurants last weekend and at the beginning of the week, and for stress at the end of the week, when i paid for the time i took off to travel over the mountains and celebrate my birthday.
all in all - no complaints, about a one pound weight gain once the water weight fell off when we returned to home cooking and meals tucked away in the freezer. i made two instant pot soups (minestrone and carrot/turmeric/sweet potato), and had a lentil curry and a mexican quinoa meal frozen in from previous instant pot dinners, so there was never an issue of "what's for dinner".
exercise was tough - no videos while we traveled, but at least i managed to get the steps in while we were in seattle. since returning home, work was so heavy that there was no time to walk more than the minimum, and sleep so scarce that combined with lack of time, that no videos for wed and thurs. finally did a video late on friday, and one today. still, we reached the minimum step goal of 10k all week. so that worked.
the beauty of beck is the way things become habits. i still can look at "not my food" and have not responded with "i want it anyway" or "i don't care". i still remember that 107 on the scale (and hopefully soon 106 again) are more important than those chips, or the cheese, or the extra unplanned nuts.
essentially it feels like i'm just hanging on to the wagon, happily riding along. i'll take it.
