thursday--firing the kiln etc

hi all! finally sitting down to blog. my cold is much better--still some residual gunk but I am being diligent about keeping it moving so it's getting better each day. today was just a big frustration in the morning, but it all calmed down later. ran to nancy's to take her paycheck to her for working the open house. had a nice visit. nancy is a very skilled seamstress and well versed in all the needle arts. she showed me some antique quilt tops she wants to assemble and hand quilt and we had a nice visit. her little corgi, biff, wanted to be in on the conversation too. he is such an engaging little guy.
came home and threw one of our roosters from last spring in the pot with some carrots and celery and set that to cooking for a good solid hour, and went down to start working on some glazing. Phyllis said she would like me to come to the kitchen store on the Saturday evening before Christmas with my pottery so I want to get some things done. to that end I did a bisque fire today and fired some test tiles. the barn is still in disarray as we work on it, so I had to climb over, under, around and through to get the job done.
exercise schedule is normalizing--I had basically missed about 5 days in a row with this stinking cold, so I am easing back in. and I was concerned because during this cold I was consuming sugar in the form of lozenges and zicam--but my pants still fit the same, so I think it's okay. just need to get back into my normal routine again.
that's all for now--just a quick check in. hope everybody has a great Friday!
