Today we celebrated my nephew's birthday (he's 29). My sister took us all to Island's restaurant, and while everyone was having burgers and fries over 1000 calories, I had a lower calorie option of a Hoisen Chicken Bowl (brown rice, chicken, pineapple, veggies) - it was delicious and filling! I even left some of the rice for fewer calories. We then went to Baskin & Robbins for an ice cream. I picked 2 low-cal flavors in a cup, and they were delicious too! I tracked my calories and was right on for today! Did I feel deprived? Nope! It was about the celebration.
Then after everyone left, we went back to my sister's house and helped her decorate for Christmas while listening to Christmas music, then we watched a Hallmark Christmas movie.
Fun day? You bet!! A day out doesn't always mean you have to go overboard on the food! That's what I'm learning!
