Just Write it Down

Wednesday, November 29, 2017

The most effective strategy for me to be in control of my eating is:

WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THAT GOES INTO MY MOUTH.
AND TRACK IT ON THE NUTRITION TRACKER.

I don't have to decide to stay within the calorie range. I don't have to be feeling motivated.

All I have to do is keep tracking- just record everything I eat, and add up the calories.

(As my friend, Watermellen says: "Even if I'm not tracking, my body is tracking every day.")

Just seeing what the calories are adding up to -- is enough to limit my eating.

And staying within the calorie range is what it takes to succeed -- is ALL it takes to succeed.

Today and every day.

Just write it down.

So, as of now, I am renewing my commitment to begin again recording everything I eat -- everything, from one grape to a slice of roast beef to a dessert at a dinner party.

I cannot always immediately enter items on SP's Nutrition Tracker, so I will just write what I am ingesting, and figure out the calories later at home.

The question now is, do I keep this record by using pencil and paper?

Or do I enter it on my phone?

I will have to think about it and decide which method will be the most convenient and least intrusive in any setting.

I'm leaning toward using the phone.
I'll have to find the best app for keeping this record of food that I eat.

Maybe just Notes.
