While in Chicago I took a little time to see some of the sights. Here are some photos
First we took an architectural River Cruise
The famous new apple store, it had opened 2 days before
the underside of the numerous bridges was fascinating
Each bridge has bridges houses at the ends. All are different
The mix of very old and very new Skyscrapers was amazing and they do pay homage to each other. All the dominant horizontal lines recognize the height of another building near by.
Factories that were converted into Lofts
an areal view on the side of a building
the entire river banks are being turned into a park like area. Each area between 2 bridges has a theme.
The goddess Diana is depicted on several buildings
Chicago from Lake Michigan
After the River Cruise we walked to Willis Towers (former Sears Tower)
Amazing views from the 103rd floor
Only for the very brave. I stood there for about 50 seconds.... Just to have my picture taken.
Then we walked to the Millennium Park.
The inside of the bean is a bit psychodelic.....
Went to Buddy Guys Legend for some Chicago Blues:
And finally here is the Railway Station - amazing, the sheer size of it is unbelievable:
I hope you enjoyed my little sojourn in Chicago & its history
Hmmm, last time I was there it was definitely still called the Sears Tower... Looks like you had some great adventures in Chicago. It is a very vertical city. Thanks for sharing your pictures. 1096 days ago
