Looking forward to a healthy change

The muscles in my lower back are still just a hair tight. I take care of my grandma; lifting and pulling her on a transfer sheet, so I have no time to really take care of my lower back. I have been stretching and doing some upper body exercises and thats helping out a lot.

For about a week now I have been sooo tired. In the mornings after my aunt leaves for work I usually go back to sleep for a couple more hours but lately I've been sleeping till 11 and not 830/9. Not sure what it is. Is it my PCOS? Stress of the Holidays? Stress of starting to eat clean and exercise more come the new year? Or the natural urge to sleep more in the winter?

I am excited to start my new lifestyle come the new year. Why am I waiting till then? Because of the 2 big meals that I get twice during this time of year. I am though watching what I eat. I've been cutting back on my pop and getting in more veggies. Im not going to go straight cold turkey. Im going to have some treats here and there through out the months. Also, I forgot to mention, on my moms side everyone makes 2 to 4 different cookies and then we all get together and exchange. In the past I would come home with about 100 cookies but over the past couple of years its about half of that. I pick out the ones we actually eat and I do smaller portions.

Whats changing:
--- Reducing my sugar intake by A LOT. So pop will be a treat once or twice a month. I can get 1 donut a month. Less sugar in my coffee :(. No pastries, cookies, cakes or cupcakes unless its for a celebration (which is rare). And no candy which I really only eat in October.
--- Watching the Sodium
--- Take control of the carbs. Carbs are life in this house. I think this will be the hardest part of everything.
--- Exercise at home and at the gym. I need to get my butt moving. Every day I wanna do something, even if it is just for 10 minutes.
--- Keep moving. There is a lot of small house projects that need to get done. They are time consuming but they need to get done!
--- Less stress. Something I've been doing is just sit still for a few minutes with my eyes closed and I give myself a small motivational speech. I remind myself why I wanna get healthy. How easy it will be if I dont over think. I does really does help.
