Chapter 27, Day 49

It is a first for me, my losing weight over the Thanksgiving holiday. My food sacrifices on that day paid off, and I'm alive and well to tell the story, lol. And what a wonderful Thanksgiving Day it was at DS2s. My son and DIL, had a large crowd of 22 adults and 6 children; they have big hearts to always include so many. I loved that my whole family, that are in town, were there to enjoy the holiday with, and I really love watching all the little ones play together. Course, the toy room looked like a war zone, lol. I had some nice quality time with new granddaughter....nearly 2 months old, she is smiling and getting so stinkin' cute. Bonus: My DIL is a well organized host and is a fabulous cook. She grew up on frozen foods, as her mom never knew how to cook.....DIL is amazing! I have 3 wonderful daughter-in-laws, I couldn't have done better if I'd hand picked them.
I have 1 week left of the 2017 Fall 5% Weight Loss Challenge. I hit the 5% weight loss marker 3 weeks ago, when I lost my 9#. My goal was to lose 15# over the course of 8 weeks. I'm at 11.5# weight loss with 1 week to go. I was overly ambitious; I gave it a good run. I'm sitting her mulling over what kind of weight loss is possible over the course of this next week....
Realistically, I can make no changes to my diet as it is as lean as it gets. I can only increase exercise, which has been very moderate over the Challenge. I'm making it my goal to burn 500 calories a day through exercise, and that means walking for an hour in the morning and then adding another session of exercise again in the evening for another 100 calories. I'll see what it does. It's a lofty goal for me. But it's only for a week. I'm going after 2.5# of weight loss this week. I am focused, ready to go, and undaunted by the rain I hear falling outside as I write this.
