Thanksgiving Time

The gluten free, sugar free apple dessert has been made. (I made up the recipe myself and hubby says it's delicious!) The stuffing has been made and is warming in a covered dish. Hubby loves my stuffing! Keeping him from eating it before dinner is usually fruitless. He is my appointed taste tester. The turkey is in the oven and it all smells so wonderful. The pans and dishes I've used thus far are all washed and put away. I learned a long time ago to clean up as I cook. It makes dinner and after dinner clean up so much easier. Right now the kitchen is clean and tidy. As the turkey cooks there is a yummy smell that I associate mainly with Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love the holiday smells!

This morning, I heard from cousins (on my father's side) who I haven't talked to in over 25 years! That is such a special blessing. I was touched. Another cousin, who lost her mother this year (my beloved aunt who was my family confident) has made an effort to get us all in touch with one another. Most of the cousins no longer have living parents, so keeping in touch to cement that sense of family is so important. I am so thankful for family.

So to all of you, my Spark friends, if you have family, cherish them. Cherish your friends too. None of them can be replaced. Make memories while you can and enjoy those memories for the rest of your life. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
