Day 15... What's there not to understand?

Sunday, November 19, 2017

I'm making a conscious effort to lose weight by eating healthier, becoming more active, and exercising more. In doing so, I'm utilizing the free weight loss program through my insurance company along w/ SparkPeople... I track my meals every day along with fitness activities daily.

So, what's there not to understand? Is it wrong that I want to live a healthier life? I don't think so... Surviving stage 4 Cancer, I was given a 2nd chance @ life so I want to live my life to it's fullest. Yet, my friends just don't understand.

Maybe it's because the majority of them are overweight & just don't care. They are the ones who don't like to cook, thus go out to eat for almost every meal. When at home, they mostly eat nothing but junk. They are also the ones who have hundreds of excuses as to why they don't exercise... The number 1 reason being 'there's just no time.'

I've been told I look at least 10-15 years younger than my 43 years & that my 'average' build is perfectly 'fine'. But, I'm not ok with 'fine'. I want to weigh less and feel like I did all those years ago. Is that so wrong?

NOTE: Secret for looking younger... 1) Use a good, (clay or mud) face mask 1x every 1-2 weeks, 2) moisturize skin 2x daily, 3) cleanse skin prior to putting on make-up, & 4) use make-up that's gentle on the skin (Neutrogena, Mary Kay, Clinique, etc.).

Sounds like you have changed and your friends have not. You want a different lifestyle than they do. I agree that finding new friends that are more in line with your behaviors & values & priorities could be good.

"I want to weigh less and feel like I did all those years ago. Is that so wrong? " Heck no.

Oh boy, several articles on people who sabatoge your efforts (SP articles). Everyone I think has different reasons for doing that, but I think most of it boils down to . . . . jealousy that you're taking care of yourself and they're not. *SIGH*

You know you have support here, so that's a good thing.
