Do you know your pharmacist by name?

Saturday, November 18, 2017

For years we have used small pharmacies so that we know who fills our medications. They know each member of the family. We can ask questions. We are confident that they will tell us if there are side effects or if this pill should be taken with food or at a certain time of day.

Most recently Allen at CoxHealth Pharmacy in the North building has filled that roll.
I had to tell him I was moving to a pharmacy near my house now that I am not driving to work 5 days each week. So took a good-bye picture

My oldest DD works in a pharmacy, so yes I do know my Pharmacist's name. Actually I would rather talk with my Pharmacist than my doctor any day. She is much more knowlegeable about my meds and actually listens to me when I ask questions. When I was having problems with my blood pressure being too low that is who I turned to.

That is a difficult parting, I am sure! I have my pharmacist whom I've known since we moved here (10 yrs. ago) and rue the day he retires! I feel lucky that Jim is our pharmacist. And my pharmacy is CVS - never had a single problem. Thank goodness.

It's nice to have that personal touch. Used to have that here, but all private pharmacies have went out of business; chains are impersonal.

I have gone to my pharmacy for over 20 years and they know me by name even the support staff and I know them all too, it is such a pleasure going there knowing the staff treat me like family, and they look after me well...there have been a couple times they something on a prescription and thought it out of character of what is usually written they called and the error was made via a visiting Doctor who took my Doctor's patients, good job they caught it...very thankful for this pharmacy...

For a long time we had a close relationship but not so in more recent years.

No I have no idea of their names; and funny that I just mentioned the Walgreen's I go to ... is like 'robot' store .... I do not get the impression the staff is very happy .... just going thru the motions ... and same with the pharmacy people .... But do realize they are extremely busy.

Our local walgreens pharmacist always greets us by name and even has caught a few meds that were prescribed that should not be taken together.
