Chapter 27, Day 42

Saturday, November 18, 2017

This morning's weigh in was a disappointment, having gained 1# back. Even though I had 2 food events, the rest of the week's food choices were stellar, and so I am surprised by the number on the scale. Boohoo. emoticon

Done. Cry is over. Time to move on and get back to work. With Thanksgiving this week, I'm a little worried about the upcoming weigh in on Saturday. Oh boy. I guess I will find out just how bad I want to maintain my 5% weight loss for this challenge.

Got food porn taping all day today (my lingo for food network shows). Clearly, I'm going through a phase right now that challenges me. All kidding aside, I like watching the food networks before the holidays to pick up new ideas. I always learn something that helps me in the kitchen. I think I have about 15 shows taping. I can be a bit excessive.

Come to think of it, I think I have a problem with over collecting cookbooks. I am especially attracted to the ones that have full color pictures on each page. I buy them because I love to eat, not because I cook for a hobby. I guess that's the better alternative, but truly I might benefit from a 12 step program that deals with my cookbook buying problem.

Glad it will be in the 40s today....I am going for a walk today.
Enjoyed some early morning quiet time, my favorite time of day.
Grateful I held on to my 5% weight loss

Make a couple of new recipes today....inspired by a cooking show I watched.
Stay the course with food plan and exercise
Get my major report done for a client that is due on Tuesday.
Run some errands: post office, shoppers club, Walmart

Have an awesome weekend, friend!

Yes, time to move on. I'm sorry to see that such a minor slip up caused a big gain. Been there.
Food certainly is fun to see. Watching people interact with food is fun to see. Stacks of books with pictures of food and people interacting with food are fun to see too. I feel you. Cookbooks are tax deductible for me so I take advantage.
    Start again!
Stay the course! You can do it! emoticon

I have always loved cookbooks. In the 70s I belonged to a cookbook club! Must admit, I still have a lot of them, but now find most things on the internet sites. But I still love the Looneyspoons cookbooks, and am getting the sisters the new one for Christmas Yum and Yummer. emoticon

If you find a place that help with cook books let me know. I am hooked on Church Cookbooks. To me those are the ones that proven recipes cause these ladies that put these in are there favorites. Right. You know, tried and true.

I know what you mean Vicki. I have lots of cookbooks too. Especially pastries. Cookies any baked goods. Gave that up but I still bake lots of cookies during the holidays. I give them away mostly. Still hard for me to portion control those cookies. emoticon Hope you foot is better for your walk today. Maybe the cold will be good for that, your foot anyway. We are planning on taking Riley to my fave trail today.
Have a great day and good that you are holding on with your 5% weight loss. Keep moving forward. emoticon emoticon
